Pad printing involves the creation of single colour print plate via a film exposure process, then the placement of the plate in a pad printing machine. The pad printer transfers ink from the plate to the product via a silicone pad in a manual machine operator process.

This technique is efficient for more irregular shaped plastic products such as audio cassette shells, pens and golf balls.
